Maximizing Land Potential: How LS Tractors Empower Property Owners
When TJ Wenger of Brownsville, Minnesota set out to buy a tractor, he didn’t just purchase a machine, he bought a lifestyle. In January 2025, TJ acquired 25 acres of land with a vision: start a Christmas tree farm, maintain the property, and most importantly, create a space where his kids could explore and enjoy the outdoors. But TJ admits, “The truth with the property is this: I wanted a tractor, but had no reason to own one. So, I bought 25 acres so I could buy a tractor.”
The tractor of choice was a 2025 LS MT232HE, purchased from Lang Equipment in Hudson, Wisconsin. Outfitted with an LS LL3003 front end loader, MCG5401 rake grapple, and a box blade, TJ’s LS Tractor quickly became the cornerstone of his property transformation.
A Property with Purpose and Play
TJ’s land includes 5 tillable acres, ideal for his future Christmas tree farm. But beyond agriculture, the property is a canvas for creativity. “One of the reasons for owning the property was to get my kids outside exploring and enjoying nature,” TJ shares. And what better way to do that than with a zipline?
TJ quickly got to work on a nature-filled playground for his kids. The outcome wasn’t a typical home zipline, but a 600-foot-long thrill ride suspended 30 feet in the air, stretching from a bluff over a pond to a small island surrounded by wetlands. What began as a weekend project quickly evolved into a two-month adventure, powered by TJ’s LS Tractor and a whole lot of determination.
The Zipline Project: A Tractor-Powered Triumph
Before the zipline could soar, TJ had to build a path to the island where it would land. That meant laying logs across soggy ground, hauling and spreading dirt, and navigating tricky terrain. “Insert tractor seat time,” TJ jokes. Over 30 hours of work in rain and 100-degree heat, the LS MT232HE proved its capabilities.
TJ used the loader, grapple and box blade to shape the path, learning the tractor’s strengths, and his own, along the way. “I got stuck a few times. Not the tractor’s fault, just me learning it,” he admits. Once the path was complete, the LS helped tension the zipline cable and clear brush to ensure a smooth ride. After 35 hours of seat time, the zipline was ready, and TJ’s kids were flying through the air, laughing and learning in the great outdoors.
Why LS Tractor Was the Right Fit
TJ had seen LS Tractors at multiple dealers and was drawn to their reliability, ease of maintenance, and flexible financing. “The overall reliability seemed comparable to other manufacturers, and both the no self-repair limitations and the financing made ownership achievable,” he explains.
Lang Equipment sealed the deal with exceptional service. Despite being over two hours away, they delivered the tractor and walked TJ through its features sight unseen. TJ says they have been very helpful to address any issues or questions he has had.
Advice from the Field
For anyone considering an LS Tractor, TJ offers practical wisdom: “Make sure you have plenty of grease, hydraulic fluid, and gear oil on hand for your daily checks as maintaining any tractor is key to its performance.”
And while he jokes about “tractor shaming” in the community, TJ stands by his blue machine. “I’m not saying other manufacturers aren’t good. I haven’t ever run them to say that. But I will say the LS has handled everything I’ve thrown at it in its first 30 hours, and that’s saying something.”
One Word: Enjoyment
If TJ had to sum up his LS Tractor experience in one word, it’s “Enjoyment.” From building a zipline to prepping land for future trees, his LS MT232HE has been more than a tool- it’s been a partner in creating memories.
Whether you’re starting a farm, maintaining land, or just dreaming big like TJ, LS Tractor is ready to help you make it happen.
